Why choose Weekend Rider?
You can choose us because we do exciting tours. We are small but highly experienced motorcycle tour provider based in Sydney, Australia. Our tours have an outstanding level of quality. We combine scenic routes, premium motorbikes and loads of fun. On the day of your ride a knowledgeable guide joins you for the entire day; he will show you the most beautiful roads and will tell you stories about the places you get to visit on tour.

What sort of distances will be covered in one day?
The daily riding distances will depend on the tour and it can vary from 200 to 500 km's. Detailed information can be found in the individual tour descriptions. We have a tour briefing before the start of each tour, we talk about the route and possible alternative routes.

Can I hire a motorcycle without booking a tour?
We do not hire our motorcycles - instead we will lend you a motorcycle of your choice for an entire day. The idea of our tours is primarily to ride with you; meet people from all corners of the world; have fun riding together and, be able to provide you and other riders an extraordinary day on two-wheels in this country.

What level of riding experience is necessary?
We recommend at least 2 years of riding experience. The level of experience of our participants varies but we can change our routes to be tailored made to your skill level and ensure the most fun for all.

Will the tour go ahead if I'm the only subscribed rider?
Yes. Even if no other riders sign up for the ride you have booked, the ride is still on!

How much notice do I need to book a tour?
We generally require at least a week's notice. However, we suggest you book as early as possible to ensure availability, especially during summer time (December to February) the busiest season in Australia.

Do you provide any riding gear?
We provide helmets, gloves and jackets free of charge to customers doing our tours. Motorcycle boots and any other protective riding equipment (if not listed) are not provided/available. Please note that you can always ship your own gear to us ahead of time. You arrive and ride with your own riding gear.

Can the guide and I swap motorbikes during the tour?
Absolutely. You only need to ask. We believe it is nice to have the opportunity to ride two different motorcycles during the day. If you are an experienced motorcyclist we are more than happy to changes bikes with you during the tour.

What if my bike breaks down?
Catastrophic mechanical failures are rare. We regularly maintain our motorbikes so that they are mechanically sound before and during the tour. In the unlikely case of a motorbike breakdown, we will make every attempt and use all resources at our disposal to get the bike to a service professional. In the very unlikely event that we cannot fix the bike, we will provide a replacement bike.

Are the tours suitable for two-up riding?
Absolutely, we have chosen routes that take in all the greatest sights and scenery without making them extreme or challenging that carrying a pillion would be impossible.

Do I have to pay any bond for the motorcycle?
A security bond has to be paid to the tour guide at the time of handing over the motorcycle. The amount of the security bond is AUD$ 500. The security bond will be refunded upon return of the undamaged motorcycle and riding gear at the end of the tour. If you are a pillion (passenger) you are not required to pay.

Where does the motorcycle tour start?
All of our tours start in Sydney. On the day of your ride the tour guide will pick you up from your hotel/residence and will take you to where the motorcycles are located. Normally the pick-up time occurs 30 to 45 minutes prior to the start of the tour scheduled time.

If it rains can I reschedule my tour?
Yes you can. We send you an email two days prior to the start of your motorcycle tour containing the weather report for the day of your ride. If the weather report predicts rain we can discuss an alternative day for your tour.

What is the tour cancellation policy?
We know your time is valuable, and ours is too. Out of respect for our tour guides, we ask that you give us at least two (2) days' notice if you need to cancel a tour.
Cancellations made two (2) days or more in advance of the tour date will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 1 day will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made within hours will not receive a refund.
If the tour needs to be rescheduled due to weather and you are unable to commit to another date you will receive a 100% refund.

You should always have with you during the tour:
